Was this grooming?

A 17 year old very naive, never even been kissed girl gets told by a man in his 30s that he's in love with her. He is married with a young child and wears her down over several months until they have a very short lived relationship.
Thoughts?

Grooming is illegal.

I completely understand why you don't want to report and have it out on the public.

Thank you. I guess so. I hadn't thought of that.

Happened to me. Teacher. Similar scenario, I was very bookish and a "good girl". Difference being I loved him. Horrible situation. We were together for a few years but he went back to his wife in the end. It was 20+ years ago. Wouldn't say I'm totally "over" it even after a lot of therapy, a long and happy marriage (my husband is brilliant and knows all about it) and two lovely kids. However, I'm as at peace with it as I ever can be. It wasn't your fault, it was him. He knew what he was doing and yes, you were groomed.

I've found support from The National Association for People Abused in Childhood to be useful over the years. They have a phone line Monday to Friday where you can talk to someone.

me too, it’s so frustrating and makes me angry inside just wishing I could tell him what I think of him and let his family know what he is like even though it was 25 years ago

Please let me know what legislation you're using here.

Thank you. I think I may well do that. Having your feelings validated is enormously helpful I think.just knowing it wasn't my fault and I wasn't some awful "other woman" because I was coerced and manipulated into a relationship due to how vulnerable I was despite being over the age of consent.
