Lettuces etc: What grocery product do you have in your cupboard which use by date has subsequently outlived the most Chancellors and/or Prime Ministers

I will give you a plastic pot of 'Hundreds and Thousands' dated 1983 that was last used in 2019 for cakes for a village fete. Still some left for next year....

Outlived these Chancellors-

Nigel
John
Norman
Ken
Gordon
Alistair
George
Philip
Sajid
Rishi
Nadhim
& Kwasi

That's a massive 10 ! Can you beat that?

I reckon my mum would have something in her 'spice drawer'.

1245J · 14/10/2022 19:30

That is exactly where I found it !! (Mine not yours).

You have something in your cupboard from 1983 that you still use in 2019? And plan to use next year? Why?

DuneFan · 14/10/2022 19:35

My 2002 cardamom pods and 2006 rice pudding put up a good show:

Gordon
Alistair
George
Philip
Sajid
Rishi
Nadhim
& Kwasi

CatNamedEaster · 14/10/2022 19:36

Cheating really as I don't think anyone can beat that with food.

BUT if we can include other stuff my tumble dryer originally belonged to my nan. My mum remembers it being bought before she left home to get married...in 1967.

So that's lasted longer than all yours plus:
Sir Geoffrey Howe
Denis Healey
Anthony Barber
Ian Macleod
Roy Jenkins
😄

It is not a question of Why. The real question is Why Not?

Weirdly I found some paracetamol in the loft recently. No idea how they got there. They were dated 2016. Didn't think it was a good idea to use them.😮

Willbe2under2 · 14/10/2022 19:40

@1245J I can guarantee that I can't beat that OP.... as your hundreds and thousands are older than me 😁. How have you not used them up already??

1245J · 14/10/2022 19:41

🤔Hmmm

Wait for it....

Clearing out mum's larder. She was a hoarder.

We found some 10 year old Werther's Originals in MIL house when we clearing it out. She was a hoarder too.

I raise you one 10 litre tank of petrol in my shed for my mower.

Made from crustaceans and sea life and trees and stuff, compressed over 30 million years.

Ahh. I'm sorry for your loss Flowers

I've definitely got cans of soup from pre-Brexit so 7 Chx including Hunt (fairly certain I'll still have them when he goes)

travellingfamily · 14/10/2022 19:49

I have a tub of Vaseline from the 1950s.

1245J · 14/10/2022 20:02

@travellingfamily I guess it is bound to be open already. Vaseline is in short supply because it has been in high demand for the last 6 years. The entire UK supply was diverted to fuck us up the arse.

Thank you. She was a real battle-axe but in the best way. Still working up to 3 weeks before she died; repairing engines, picture frames and wooden toys.

It feels like a portent, now. She was a Conservative voter most of her life, though later felt something to Brown and Miliband.

@1245J yeah I'll give you petrol as the winner. But I do love my little tumble dryer.😍
