Random Question About Civil Service Interviews

If you have an interview with the Civil Service (DEFRA in this case), do they follow up references for everyone who has an interview, or just if you are likely to be offered the job?

So, for example, would my boss have been phoned to ask for information about me if I wasn't likely to be offered the job?

Only after job offer in EA - we're part of the Defra family and use same recruitment team and procedures.

Thank you, that's very helpful.

Have a look the CareerVidz clips about the CS behaviours on YouTube and make sure when you are answering each question each behaviour that you have the correct behaviour description open and you are ticking things off as you answer

I'm MOJ and we only check references post offer. Look up the civil service success profiles online.

It's really kind of you to take the time to tell me that, but this isn't about an upcoming interview. I had the interview, they phoned my (then) boss and she told me afterwards that she told them something which would make it look as if the referee I had given was faked. I didn't get the job, and I told myself that I probably wasn't in the running anyway. But if that isn't the case, then that changes a lot. I no longer work for this woman, but she now wants a huge favour from me.

She can go whistle for it.
