What do I want for my birthday?

Turning 42 just before xmas. DH wants to get me gift (I usually tell him not to bother as I dont tend to want for much) but he's insistent.

I have plenty of bags, shoes etc. I'm not big into expensive skin care, hair care fashion etc. I have a nice winter coat already, I'm not a spa/experience type person.

I suggested a nice meal out with DH but he wants to get me something to open. He suggested a few bits for my hobby, but I have everything I need there.

He would spend up to £300 but I'd rather keep it under £100 as we're meant to be watching our spending.

All my spare time is spent either reading on my tablet, running the martial arts club I own, or watching tv. I really am a simple soul 😆

Gift voucher, new luxury dressing gown or lounge wear.

I've asked my husband if I can have the heating on all day for my birthday !

It's a cliche but you really can't beat good quality, nicely designed socks for a present. They feel nice and you get to use them every day. I ask for them every birthday and xmas, and last year White Stuff did a sock advent calendar so I know it's not just me!

If you read on your tablet, you might find a Kindle Paperwhite a nicer experience.

It's much more book like to look at, lighter, the battery lasts a lot longer, you can read in bright sunlight and some are waterproof so you can read in the bath/at the spa etc.

If he wants to spend more, ask for Amazon vouchers as well so you can buy loads of books.

I already have one of these, its fab and gets WELL used 😁

My MIL will send me an amazon voucher which will be used for reading material. She is awesome and knows I need my book fun replacing by xmas.

I did consider one of these advent calendars everyone on MM raves about as I've never had one and they look fun. It would need to be a beauty one as food type ones are too risky with my allergies.

Cashmere jumper - uniqlo.and John Lewis have some for around £100

Cashmere dressing gown

A set of crystal wine glasses

Upgrade your every day items - Sophie Alport has some lovely bone China mugs - the small size is the perfect size fire a cup of tea IMHO. A set of 8 or 10 would be lovely.

Neom gift set (love love love their diffusers and they are quite pricey!)

£300 - Russell and Bromley boots - something classic that would last for years
