I'm not that close with my mum's side of the family and only ever see them once or twice a year (sometimes less than that) as they all live quite far from me. I do, however, have one cousin who lives quite locally to me, but we don't really have a close relationship.
I recently had a baby shower and completely forgot about her! I've since heard that she's quite upset and has been asking other family members why she wasn't invited and I feel awful. Do I send a message and apologise? What would I even say in the apology? I can't exactly say 'sorry you weren't invited, I completely forgot about you'
