So I was meant to do it in person on Wednesday but I went home with covid.

I feel like waiting until next Wednesday when I see her again to tell her in person after a whole week of knowing disrespectful.

I have been there for 9 years and she is like my second mum. She has done so much for me over the years.

Its nothing against her or her business, I’m changing career entirely, starting from the bottom in something which really interests me.

I will call her rather than email, I guess that’s more personal. But please help calm my nerves!!

Just do it. You'll feel better for it, and won't fret all weekend!

Posted too soon, sorry! I've had people under me hand in their notice for jobs they're just made for, and never hold any grudges because I want them to be happy!
If you have a positive relationship with her, I reckon she will be delighted for you and happy that you're finding a path for something you really enjoy :)
Don't put it off till after the weekend, rip the plaster off!

Oh gosh, this was me a few months ago. Lovely manager and I beat myself up for weeks about it, sleepless nights and anxiety. She took it well although she was disappointed as didn't want to lose me. I left on great terms. Trust me the relief once it's done is immense, please get the courage and do it before the weekend so you can relax.
