What's made you feel successful in your career?

I'm having a bit of an employment crisis at the minute, and keep making the mistake of googling old friends who are flying high in their roles and then leave myself feeling shitty.

2023 will be the year I can do pretty much anything I want in terms of a job - find a role, retrain, whatever. Very lucky I know. But I don't know what I want to do 🤷🏼‍♀️

So please tell me, what do you do? Do you feel successful/have you achieved something great? Do you love it? I need a kick up the bum...

If your anyway scientifically minded, look into careers in sustainability. Huge area for growth, very interesting and a massive skills shortage. Lots of people have a first career and then a sidewides move into sustainability.
(I work in sustainability in property/construction, can't find enough good people to meet demand!)

For me success at work is about autonomy and working with great people. I am lucky that I have found a company where I genuinely like most people I work with and am senior enough that I get to make decisions and set my own course. It's taken about 15 years to get to this point. I do feel successful although part of me still always feels like a nervous grad with no experience!
