First day potty training

First day and it’s going well. But what do people after the first few days? So let’s say it goes well but she’s not 100% yet- what do I do when I take her out and we can’t get to a toilet quick enough? In a supermarket for example.
we also have an event next weekend- I’ll take travel potty but surely I can’t just whip out anywhere!

what are your best recommendations for the early days? And how long did you need the travel potty before they could reliably wait until they reached a toilet?

is it also a bad idea to use the reusable nappies or maybe use inserts in training pants for car journeys?

sorry so many questions!

I'm on day one too, not going so well!

Been told not to use ANY nappies because going back to them only confuses the child

We have a travel potty which I'm happy to use for the next year or so

We did 3 days at home and then short walks or trips to the shop. I took the travel potty with me. He has been toilet trained since May now and never had an accident past day 3 but still keep the travel potty in the car and use it on occasions.

I used pull ups when we went out, if we went to supermarket we would go to the toilets, even if they didn’t go, it got them used to knowing where the toilets were and they wanted to go in every toilet we saw. As soon as we got home, I took the pull ups off. We took a potty out with us if we went anywhere by car and just sat him on it after we had parked. It’s best to go full on training than just doing it in bits and pieces.
