Most of the homework is asking the 4 figure or 6 figure grid references for places on the map

Have they left the grid reference off?

Isn't it usually across the top and side?

The 90/91 And 24/25 are the gtidline, you can infer the other numbers by estimating where the position is between the two main numbers.

So the phone is at 9051N 2409E for example (roughly!)

This is one of those times where you can't see for looking.
If they're only asking for a 6 figure grid ref, then you quote 24x 90y where x and y are the distances you estimate within the 24 90 square, so if it was a point slap bang in the middle of the square, like the outdoor centre maybe you'd say 245905

To be fair it's a daft map for this activity. Write grid numbers along the bottom and the side to make it easier.
