Don't you just dial the mobile number?

runningonberocca · 13/10/2022 14:47

Try 0044 then the mobile without first 0

Winter99Mermaid · 13/10/2022 14:47

0044 ? At start

akittyisyou · 13/10/2022 14:47

It’s still a UK number even though it’s abroad. You just dial it normally.

Pinetreesfall · 13/10/2022 14:50

Isn't the code 61 for Australia? So you wouldn't need that when calling a UK number!

WeAreTheHeroes · 13/10/2022 14:51

You don't need the international dialling code if you're calling a UK number from the UK even if it's elsewhere in the world.

MadeForThis · 13/10/2022 14:53

If it's a uk number calling another uk number you just dial normally.

It doesn't matter where the phones are currently located.

Wow adding this to my list of things that are much simpler than I knew and that I've overcomplicated !

You dial as if they are in the U.K.

You don't need to change what you dial because you don't always know where the phone is.

Fine if you're dialling a family member or friend, and they've told you where they're going, but if you don't know the movements of the person you're calling, they could be in the next room or anywhere in the world.

So you just dial the number as normal. and the magic of the telephony system sends the call to them.
