Any one else disappointed? I was so looking forward to it after the A Word and it's just, so slow?

I've enjoyed it, though I watched it all on iplayer. I could see it might feel slower if you are waiting between episodes.
It's very different to the A Word isn't it - a lot gentler and rather predictable really.

I live fairly close to where quite a lot of the filming was done so it's fun to spot locations. I think it gives an over idealised view of life in the Lakes though. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love where I live but it's not quite the inclusive, diverse community full of slightly quirky but ultimately charming folk that populate this series. In fact if I had to list all the pros and cons of my home, I think lack of diversity would be my number 1 downside.
But I found it an enjoyable if undemanding "feel good" series. I'd like to see them tackle some of the issues that are touched on in a more realistic/in depth way if there is a second series but overall I thought it was good - well acted and visually stunning. There is some really beautiful filming.

I liked it but was surprised how gentle it was. It was suffering from a lack of Christopher Eccleston I reckon.
