Is The Art Of Letterwriting Dying?

I am part way through writing a letter to my Aunt & Uncle who are in a “ halfway house” whilst their home is being made fit to live in. I really can’t remember the last time I wrote a letter & that makes me sad. I love stationary ( or is it stationery?!) & I treasure letters I have received in the past. It’s so much more personal than E Mailing, texting or messaging on social media. Do you still write letters?

Me! I write letters whenever I can. I love sitting down at my desk and opening new stationery 🖊

I think it’s six foot under at this stage. I also don’t think it was an art particularly, maybe for some people but very few really.

I can't write more than one line these days without my writing becoming completely illegible, even to me.

And btw, it's stationery (comes from a stationer's is how I remember it).

Emails can be articulate as can people blogging, so I don't think that the art of writing your thoughts and dreams down is lost, however handwriting skills are probably terrible now, I know mine is awful on the rare occasions I put pen to paper.

Stationery. E for envelope.

I write emails, but not letters, these days. My handwriting was good and now isn’t.

My hand writing is still okay but my hand aches after a while. Sometimes I read my dd’s English essays and think wow all these pages of lovely hand writing!
