Meal planning?!

I've recently gone back to work after mat leave and I'm finding it so difficult to keep up with cooking healthy meals that my 1yo and 3yo can eat, as well as the husband and I, that are not just repetition! It's basically chaos in between nursery pick up and bedtime so every day feels like a battle.
Has anyone found anything that's helpful? is meal planning the answer?! hellofresh/gousto etc seem so expensive, but are they a good option?

Try the Whisk app. Lots of 'communities' to follow for inspiration, a meal planner and it pastes across into a shopping list. I use it all the time and gave found some great new meals. I'm also a big fan of Recipe Tin Eats blog.

I've just done a 4 week meal plan and stuck it to the fridge, I feel immense relief. I do an online shop every 4 or 5 days, can now see exactly what I need yo buy, and whoever is home just needs to cook whatever is on the list.
I've left the weekends blank so we can have some wriggle room for takeaway, eating out, having friends round or whatever, but the Monday- Friday tedium of what to cook is gone.
