Do they still carry on wearing it in the house?

Depends how bad it was and what the stain was but mostly yes. And I send mine to nursery and school with stuff that has paint stains because they’re only going to add to it!

I didn’t tend to add stained stuff to the hand me down pile for DC2 though - recycle it in textile recycling instead.

They wear it on days that they don't need to be smartly dressed. I can't abide the idea of throwing out perfectly good clothes because they aren't perfect.

Depends on quite how bad the stain is. School polo shirts seem to be stained after 2 wears, we carry on wearing them anyway. I honestly don't know what they do in school, they certainly don't use washable pens.
Stained trousers or joggers still get worn. Even if they were clean when ds left the house the knees would be dirty within 3 minutes of him being in the playground so there's no point worrying about that.
Smart things with stains that I really couldn't remove would go in the textile recycling.

Nothing stayed stained for long with vanish and a bit of elbow grease

I spray with 1001 pet stain remover 😂 then wash them -gets anything out. Even blood.

They wear it, unless we’re going somewhere really nice. If it’s eventually so strained that I can’t donate to charity shop , goes in the bin or use it for cleaning. Mine are quite regularly running around looking like scruffy mops, as I don’t really care and they’ll just throw themselves back in miss I change them.

Wear it for normal stuff not smart. Hang it in the sunlight for a few days as well and it's amazing how much a stain will fade out especially on whites.

I hope people are doing a lot of the things mentioned in this thread now that the cost of living is affecting us all.

My kids especially the 2 year old wears stained stuff until she can (in the house) as she's always got a pen in her hand or paint or something.
