I have a migraine

year3k · 12/10/2022 08:20

And I have my almost 2 year old tornado to look after, alone.

I don't have any support from family or friends available, DH is in the office today, he's going through a hitting and throwing stage (DS not DH).

What the fuck am I going to do?
Help 🥺

Take any appropriate medication you can such as pain relief or triptan.

I’d advise spending a few minutes gathering all necessities together in one room and making it childproof as possible. Toys, nappies, snacks, loads of drinks. Bedroom or living room be best. The focus is keeping the toddler safe and you lying down as much as you can. This might mean toddler does stuff you don’t normally permit if it means you can rest such as tv or iPad.

can dh finish work early?

Thanks for the advice. I've asked him if he can so 🤞🏼

Hope you’re feeling better soon
try and have something small to eat if you’re not being sick plus some fluids.

Why can't your DH take the day off? He shouldn't be leaving you to deal with this on your own.

Do you have any migraleve?

Call Amy family/friends that could pop over & take him out or just play/supervise while you rest on your bed.

when you're better, find an agency with Ad hoc babysitters/nannies or one local person who you can call on for help.

hope your migraine does get too bad 🤞🏼

I feel you. I've done this many times. Yesterday, actually.

I've just ignored everything but the absolute basics. Let DC watch tv all day. Easy snacks and food. Lie on the couch.

Occasionally I've had to ask DH to get DC from school or child care. He knows if I ask it's dire as I've learned to just manage. I shouldn't have to, it's not fun, it just is what it is. I get them too often for DH to come home every time.

If anyone reads this through their own desperation. May I point you in the direction of this Sleep Headphones Bluetooth Eye... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09H2TNNT4?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

They look like they puff little clouds of vapour into your eyes...do they?

Hope you're fully recovered now, op.

Haha no they don't

I still have a bit of a migraine hang over but that may be exasperated by exhaustion
