Oh gosh that's sad. I have fond memories of watching Murder She Wrote with my Nan when I was a little girl 😢

Me too. My nan and I would always watch it together and critique the storylines and comment if someone was handsome.
She was a fantastic woman 💐

You wouldn't want Jessica Fletcher coming to stay... 🔫 🗡......

Bedknobs and broomstick too

Towcat15 · 11/10/2022 21:26

Just reading about what an extraordinary life she led. Very sad.

Karbea · 11/10/2022 21:28

I saw her in Blithe Spirit a few years ago, she was so good.

Elderflower14 · 11/10/2022 21:28

She was fabulous as the cranky Aunt in Nanny Mcphee.. And in Mary Poppins Returns too!!

Oh that's sad, I used to love watching murder she wrote when I was a student and should have been reading!

Waitwhat23 · 11/10/2022 21:30

My favourite fact about her is that she came into the studio and sang 'Tale As Old As Time' for Beauty and the Beast in one take, having just got off a plane, which had been diverted because of a bomb threat - www.insider.com/angela-lansbury-beauty-and-the-beast-song-2017-3

ForensicFlossy · 11/10/2022 21:35

What a fabulous lady, she will be missed.

That's a brilliant story.

Saw her on stage 3 times and met her. She was amazing and so lonely. A true icon.

Icannoteven · 11/10/2022 21:40

How odd, I could have SWORN she died about 10 years ago 🫤

Mrs Potts … that’s made me a little teary tonight.

lollipoprainbow · 11/10/2022 21:51

Shared a birthday with my lovely mum who also died this month !

DinosApple · 11/10/2022 21:51

Bedknobs & broomsticks was my favourite as a child. Brilliant actress.

Recently though, my mum recommended the Court Jester as funny family viewing. It is extremely funny and has a young Angela Lansbury as a princess (1956).

Ahh, I'm really sorry to hear this. Love her.

I loved Murder She Wrote, as implausible & lacking in subtlety as the plots were. Jessica Fletcher seemed so capable & organised, that's what I liked!

DarkDarkNight · 11/10/2022 21:53

It’s very sad. I loved her in Murder She Wrote. It’s my comfort watch.

SurpriseSurprise · 11/10/2022 21:55

She’ll always be Mrs Potts to me

“tale as old as time”…

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 11/10/2022 21:58

This news made me cry. So closely linked to memories of my childhood snuggled up with my Nan and grandad.

Floralnomad · 11/10/2022 22:00

Murder she Wrote is a bit of a family joke here , whenever our son is at home he makes us watch an episode . She always seemed a very lovely , professional lady , RIP .

Wolfiefan · 11/10/2022 22:02

@lollipoprainbow so sorry for your loss.
Loved Murder she wrote and Bedkknobs and Broomsticks. Tale as old as time is so moving.
A true star.

MrsTuxedo · 12/10/2022 07:12

Loved her too! She was amazing.
Vibrant on screen and in life.
I dowloaded her book Positive moves (from the internet archives , you " borrow" it) and it talks so much about attitude towards life.
I am currently at chapter 4 where she talks about diet and some of the struggles she had.
So pure, open, like listening to a friend.
