Baby bath advice please

My sister is coming to visit from the US and bringing her baby - the baby is three months old. Can anyone advise on whether I need to buy a baby bath? DSis mentioned bringing her folding bath but that seems daft when they will have so much luggage and I'm happy to get something. Is one kind better than another? Or is there a size guide somewhere online that would give me an idea? I haven't met the baby yet and don't have any of my own so struggle to picture how big a 3mo is.

Bath the baby in the kitchen sink!

MassiveSalad22 · 11/10/2022 19:41

Nah she can hold the baby in the bath surely. DD is 6 months and at that age loved (still does) just lying down in the bath and kicking her legs. Obviously keep a hand on them. Or sink baths!

We used a plastic bath support in the big bath

Schnuggle - only about £20.

I’ve used the big bath tube for my baby since birth, I just put half an inch of water in and use a washcloth. It’s absolutely not necessary to have a baby bath.

*big bath tub. Not tube

If you have a bath already you can buy a support to pop in and they just lie on it. There's usually plenty on marketplace for fairly cheap. I also used it in the shower.

Regular bath…

I never used a baby bath, just held my DD tbh

This is the bath we use for our 3 mo old, he loves it!

I often see them on fb marketplace for a few pounds so you could probably pick one up pretty cheaply.

My baby is just about to be 4 months and he is too long for the baby bath. As far as I am aware they only come in one size. Now I just bath him in the main bath, hand on him under his head obviously.

HippeePrincess · 11/10/2022 19:45

Main bath is fine but can use the sink or a washing up bowl. Absolute madness to bring a bath on a plane 😂

ContadoraExplorer · 11/10/2022 19:47

DS got too big for his bath seat but I was still a little worried about his stability sitting up in such such slippy place (even with a bath mat) so I stuck a washing basket in the bath, sat him in that and he loved it! Or as others have said, nothing wrong with a sink bath!

I have got a big butler sink so will probably be okay in there, but it might be cold. I swear I remember the cold edge of my grannie's Belfast sink, although that doesn't seem realistic. Thanks all.
