Early shopping delivery

I book my weekly shop between 4-5 so I have enough time to pick the kids up and get home.

I got home tonight at 3.50pm and the van was there. When I got to the door the shopping was put in front of the door so I could hardly get in the house. It had frozen items in as well so that would’ve been outside for min 10 mins before my slot.

If I’m in I don’t mind answering the door and getting it early but am I right to be annoyed it was left on the doorstep at least 10 mins before my slot when I wasn’t in?

I find it so annoying when they are early as well as late without checking. Fine if we are there but if not the driver should have waited for you.

10 mins will be fine. I've had frozen food not frozen way longer than that.

If I do the shopping and drive home my frozen items are out of the freezer for the best part of an hour, whilst mildly inconvenient and an apology for being slightly early would be appropriate, you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

It was 10 mins when I got there, not sure how long it had been sitting there.

Early delivery annoys me as much as late. I have had drivers call to say they are running early/ in the area and can deliver if we are in - I’m fine with that.

I did give one short shrift who unloaded an hour early and pointed out that DH and I were
both on calls and he would have to pack up and come back. To be fair, he did accept this with good grace.
