birthday activities for 11-13 year old girls

Looking for ideas for activities for the day before a birthday sleepover for 11-13 year old girls. They will likely do some creative baking but would like to get them out of the house for part of the day and also some other ideas for in the house.

Not ice skating or trampoline park or such that might cause injuries as I dont want to be responsible and not cinema or make up/nails etc.

Had thought of fun swim session and lunch out and maybe a dance game on xbox and film but it sounds quite similar to previous.

Go Ape or indoor climbing centre maybe?

Oh my god my DD would love this.

I'm not sure I would do swimming or hot tub, some of the girls might have their period and not be confident using tampons yet and end up feeling left out. Is the sleepover soon, lots of places are doing pumpkin picking or Halloween walking trails just now.

PuttingDownRoots · 11/10/2022 14:12

We took my DD and her friends to a dessert cafe.

Some football centres have giant transparent balls, one per player. They climb inside, roll around and bash into each other. Energetic and fun, but doesn't hurt.

Or indoor climbing centre. Bouldering wall lots of fun but can traverse low to ground with crashmats so no harness needed.

Whitewater rafting or canoeing.

Lasertag

Undertheoldlindentree · 11/10/2022 14:27

Maize maze for Hallloween
Ghost walk around city or stately home
Llama walk - often see Groupons for these

Some lovely ideas thanks.

Never thought about swimming issue so thanks for raising that (none of them have started periods yet as gymnast/dancer types but something I should have been aware of). Too many of them have their own hot tubs but my daughter would love it!

They would love giant transparent balls! Halloween event could work depends how long the events go on.

Any apps/things we can buy for dance/karaoke at home?

Any unusual cooking ideas for home other than baking, cake pops, pizza etc?

Chocolate pizza?

AdaColeman · 11/10/2022 23:34

A fun kitchen task could be making sushi, you could use vegetables, smoked salmon, tuna, so no raw fish to deal with. Perhaps prepare the rice beforehand as not very exciting! Get some soy sauce and pickled ginger for serving.

Or you could make gyoza if you've got a Chinese supermarket nearby for the wrappers. Use fillings like shredded chicken, mangetout, peas, grated carrot etc. Shallow fry or poach in stock or steam with adult supervision. Get some dipping sauces and chopsticks for serving. You could do some vegetable carving of radishes or spring onions for garnish, look it up on YT.
