Perforated ear drum

My left ear is blocked and doctor confirmed a perforation/infection so I’m currently on antibiotics. My question is, when will it pop? I can’t hear much from this ear and everything is so eery and silent even when I’m outside on a busy road. Please tell me I will hear again.

If it’s perforated it has already popped. Your hearing is likely to return in a week or two. I get horrendous ear infections regularly. The last one was particularly bad and I would not have been surprised if I had lost the hearing in that ear but after a few weeks it was back.

I’m scared it may never come back. Any positive stories anyone?

You have to give it time for the eardrum to heal as PP said and it takes weeks rather than days, it is scary when your hearing suddenly goes especially if it has never happened to you before but keep the faith! It might not come back fully all at once but it almost always comes back.
I've had loads of perforated eardrums since childhood and it always has. Flowers

I suffered with perforated eardrums all the time, your hearing does come back. I'm deaf in one ear (not through perforated eardrums, was born that way) so it's horrible when my good ear perforates as I go completely deaf
