Hi all, my son aged 8 has just been offered a place at More House Frensham. He is diagnosed with dylexia and dyspraxia and has sensory needs, he also has autistic traits although we haven’t perused a diagnosis as feel it wouldn’t be helpful. He is currently at a small state primary and is fairly happy although finding the work increasingly hard. The school have applied for an EHCP for him and in the recent meeting he was described at working at latter yr2 standard (he’s currently in yr4). We feel More House would be a good fit for him but he really took against the school after his taster days. I am really looking for some advice or reassurance. Does anyone have any experience of the school helping to settle children? is it good pastorally ? Can anyone give any advice on whether we should move him now or wait for year 5? Any thoughts on More House would be very gratefully received. He’s had such a tough time educationally I really don’t want to upset him even if it’s for his own good in the long run. Thanks in advance
