Job application

Ds20 has applied to a role in a local engineering firm. Closing date was 30th September. He has had no response back as of yet. The job itself needed no qualifications or experience as they were able to provide training. Ds has Gcse's and the equivalent of 6 A levels in engineering and It.

He is feeling very deflated, applying for roles with not one single acknowledgement.

How soon would you contact the business asking about the application.

Is it too soon?

I’d wait two weeks before contacting them, but really there’s no harm in seeming eager and motivated.

It potentially won’t seem motivated though, just annoying. They have his application and they’ll get back to him when they can.

i know it’s hard waiting. But you really do have to be patient.

Its pot luck and wild west out there. I was applying to lots of jobs around July time when I was made redundant. I now have a job and have been working for 10 weeks and I'm still only just getting sorry you haven't been shortlisted emails come through now. Many I haven't even had a response from at all.
