Security queues at Heathrow - what are they like these days?

We're due to fly out of Heathrow this Friday at about 3pm. Anyone flown recently at a similar time on a weekday? How lengthy were the queues for security? Trying to avoid having to get there three hours early if poss! Thanks

Yes, I flew out last week Tuesday afternoon and the queue at Terminal 5 security was huge. No idea why, not half term or anything.

I flew from Terminal 2 10 days ago... was an absolute nightmare of a queue for security. It wrapped all the way around and went back to the entrance doors. I got there 3 hrs early and took 1.5 hrs to get past it all.

My flight was a Friday at around 2pm so similar timings to yours if that matters.

There have been staffing issues as you will have seen elsewhere. It varies from hour to hour day to day, there is no general rule unfortunately.
