In her enthusiasm to try new things, dd1 bought 6 figs today...

What shall we do with them?

Maybe something sweet rather than savoury as main meals are pretty much sorted for the week.

We have had a google but I've never cooked them before so a bit unsure where to start! Tia

Pan fry in butter, dipped in sugar and dollop of ice cream

alrightfella · 09/10/2022 20:02

I'd just eat them as they are!

Dotcheck · 09/10/2022 20:02

Just eat them as is- they are delicious

Inheritanceconfusion · 09/10/2022 20:04

Have them with Parma ham. Or blue cheese. Or just eat them.

Eat fresh with goats cheese and a twist of black pepper on the cheese Grin

To be fair to dd, she shopped well & took note of the labels on the shelves to work out best value for what she was choosing. The figs just threw me a bit.

We'll try them as they are & fried in butter, served with ice cream does sound up my street.

Cut the stalk off, and cut a cross in the top. Drizzle with honey, sprinkle of cinnamon and some chopped nuts and bake for about 15 mins. Serve with ice cream/cream/custard.

Quarter them so they still hang together at the bottom. Drizzle with honey, put some goat cheese or feta in the middle, and sprinkle with chili flakes. Hot oven for 15 minutes.

That also sounds good @DeltaAlphaDelta79! It's a good job tomorrow's soup night...can save space for pudding too 😋

I like them with Greek yogurt and honey.
