Do you work with someone who is really rude?

There's two at my work but one is getting RIGHT on my wick. He's so rude. Arrogant, condescending, I absolutely can't stand him.

I've worked with many rude people over the years and I find killing with kindness the only solution - or you'll go mad!! A lot of the time they end up being a bit nicer (not guaranteed!)

One of the ladies I worked with when I was younger was just hideous. I remember checking my mobile and saying out loud “oh, DH hasn’t pinned” (he was travelling to the city) and this woman casually came out with “maybe he’s had a car accident and died”. Like wtf? Honestly, people can be vile. If your colleague is especially vile, can you speak to HR? Your line manager? Put it any unpleasant incidents in writing to them so you have a record of it.

*phoned not pinned!

You need to learn how to deal with him rather than being annoyed. Give an example of his behaviour and we can help 😁

@PollyCreo we have a new computer system and the training was basically non existent which means people make mistakes on it all the time. He writes snide little emails pointing out peoples errors in a really rude way which belittles them and he says people are skipping parts of their jobs when actually everyone is run ragged. His last email was like "we've all had months to learn this now"

Do you work with my ex?!?!
😂

It's difficult to read tone correctly in emails. He just sounds frustrated with a difficult situation.

Maybe your perception is that everyone is run ragged but his is that people are doing a half arsed job that he then has to fix.

Op has acknowledged that everyone is making mistakes all the time though. That's a legitimate workplace concern.

He's not being diplomatic but it's not like he's inventing their mistakes either. The issue here is the employer failing to train its staff or uphold standards.
