My baby hates me

Does anyone have any tips on how I can bond more with my baby?

He’s 9 months old and I feel like he hates me lol, we live at home with my parents so he sees them a lot. When he sees them walk into a room etc his face lights up and he gets so excited, but not when I walk in. He always smiles and laughs for them but he doesn’t do it as much for me.

I love him so much but I don’t feel like we have a bond at all, can someone please help x

Spend time on your own with him. What do your parents do with him that’s different from what you do? Does he like rough and tumble or noisy stuff and you’re more reserved? Maybe the other way about?

He lights up for them because they’re ‘separate’.

Babies see their mums as an extension of themselves for ages after birth. It’s one of the reasons they say ‘dad’ first.

He’s not lighting up because he thinks of you as a missing limb that’s returning. You’re not new or exciting.

Lots of cuddling, reading, playing. Spend as much quality time as you can (no phones, no one else, no tv, etc)

Of course I spend time with him alone, he’s my baby.
