Hello, I rented a desk in an office for a few months only, very "unofficial" agreement arranged by someone else in the same office who provided me with bank details of the landlord and the regular amount to be paid in.
It wasn't a huge amount of money and I asked before I joined if I could get a receipt and was told every 2 months a receipt would be provided.
I have now left just a few months later and asked for a receipt but the landlord has simply provided me with an email (sent from someone else's name) saying the overall amount received for xxx office, today's date - no breakdown of payments - no receipt number / /invoice number / company name or address. His initial plus surname as his name. Not even a full name.
I get the impression this is very off the cards somehow.
My bank statement shows payments to his account. i doubt I will get an official receipt for tax purposes.
I don't really want to push too hard to get something if I don't need to - in this circumstance will what I have be ok for tax purposes? I have followed up with a request for a more official invoice but I doubt very much it will be forthcoming. To be honest I am glad to be out of there and would prefer not to chase.
