I need ideas please, I've bought one of the wooden advent calendars that you fill yourself (silly me) and now I have no idea other than chocolate! I will definitely put some chocolate in but I need at least another 15 more ideas 🙈😩 what's small enough to go in? Apart from my brain 🤭

Stickers- tattoos- rubbers
honestly I’d can the idea and get a chocolate one

Just chocolate… why are you over complicating this?

NuffSaidSam · 07/10/2022 20:06

I'd keep most of it edible to avoid drifting into the party bag/plastic tat arena.

You could also include:

A stamp for the letter to Santa
Some money to spend at a Christmas fayre
Hair bobbles
Lego/Playmobil person
A clue giving the location of a bigger present (e.g. a book or Christmas craft activity or festive cookie cutter).

I just bought a tub of advent crayons from crayon box - 24 mini crayons in Christmassy shapes

Chocolate coins.

Don't make a rod for your own back!!

We have two that we've used for years. We put chocolate Santas, chocolate coins or other chocolate plus a pound coin in each pocket.

Hot chocolate sachets

I don't know if you have a girl or boy but at 4 my DD loved getting her nails painted. Primark do packs of 8 (I think) tiny bottles of nail varnish which you could split up. Plus it's crap nail polish so only lasts a day or 2 before peeling off.

Hair slides/bobbles

You'll regret it...

PurplePeach62 · 07/10/2022 21:00

32 years ago I made a quilted advent calendar with pockets to fill with goodies for my first dd. Another dd later and with them both getting older and me trying to find something cheap and interesting every blinking day of December I regretted it hugely and was delighted to be able to put it away once I'd decided they'd outgrown it 🥳🥳
Then 6 years ago my dgd came along and to my horror it was resurrected- older and wiser now it's either chocolate or a message every day such as fill up the bird feeder or water the plants etc

Aw, I did one for my kids and I loved it. I still do
