I'm just lying in the bath remembering that years ago I became fixated on working words out backwards in my head.
It got to the point I would do sentences even when people were speaking to me, of what they'd said and I couldn't reply until I'd finished.
I had to train myself not to do it and it was such a relief.
Recently I felt stressed and noticed I was doing odd words again.
I've never come across this before, is it common? Or am I just a weirdo lol

I don't know how common it is, but many years ago I had a work colleague who could talk backwards. I don't think it wa a fixation, more like a party trick. Do you feel worried about it starting up again? Is it stress related?

I have no idea I hadn't realised I was doing it this time until I did if that makes sense.
I'm very good and fast it but it's pointless and time consuming and last time it became too much, any word I heard even on tv I had to do it.
Still no idea why lol

Well, I guess if it starts to feel like a compulsion, and is annoying for you, you could look at ways of managing it - no idea what - maybe meditation, mindfulness? I'm talking out of the top of my head, have no experience of such things. Hope it doesn't get too difficult for you.
