Tesco - less champagne and finest food?

Has anyone noticed a recent change in the stock at Tesco? In addition to their being empty shelves in fresh aisles, I’ve noticed that the champagne range has been stripped back (no Veuve, Tattinger, Moët,etc) to Tesco’s own and the range of finest style food has decreased.

This has been over the past fortnight, but I did wonder if it was an indication of Tesco anticipating less customer spending on these items this winter.

My app shows their normal full selection of champagne at our local store. Maybe people are buying it in anticipation of prices increases.

Just checked out online store and the full range or champagne is offered there too - wonder if that’s the last of the local stock?

Anyone who is serious about their wine will not be buying it from the supermarket so it may well be that the casual champagne buyers are reducing their consumption. Personally I'm making sure I have plenty of booze for when Putin bombs us all.

Plenty of booze will cover any water shortages as we can all brush our teeth and then rinse with champagne!!

Anyone who is serious about their wine will not be buying it from the supermarket The point is that there is now a difference in the stock available - meaning a difference in the upcoming purchasing power. I personally use Clos19, but the post wasn’t about my purchases, rather my observations.
