Unplanned pregnancy - too small house

I’m pregnant with DC3. A failure of the mini pill. We have a 3 bedroom house and 2 DC who are 9 and 7. I’m worried about lots of things but one of the big ones is having to make them share a room again. They did for years until we moved into this house and they had space for their own bedrooms. We can’t move again and we can’t afford to do any kind of extension. Is it going to make them both resent the baby? I feel like I’ve let them down.

I wouldn't panic yet, you've got perhaps 2-3 years until DC3 really could do with being out of your room as long as your room is large enough for a baby bed. What other room do you have in the house, dining room? Is your living room large?

You might be surprised in that one of them won't mind sharing. Does one of them have a reasonably sized bedroom? There are lots of videos online showing how to separate a bedroom into two mini-rooms using bunk beds, you block off opposite sides of the beds to partition the room so that the top bunk is accessed from one side of the room and the bottom bunk is accessed from the other side.

What genera do you already have? I presume they are the same if they shared before? Any chance of dividing up the biggest bedroom?

Ive seen it done with bunk beds as the middle division where the bottom bunk has one side effectively boarded up and the top bunk the otherside creating two separate sides of the room. A friend also did it with a very long room where they got dividers from b&q the only shared part was there the right side to walk across the lefts side to enter but again you could pop some kind of curtain up for even more privacy.

a separate living or dining room that you could convert into your bedroom?
