Current account switch service - help!

I decided to switch my current account from TSB to First Direct.

I think they have made the switch however I can’t access my new First Direct account at the moment.

But somebody last night transferred me money into my TSB account and I can’t move it out! I also have savings in my TSB account, but under another pot, and I can’t get that out either. Is this supposed to happen? I am panicking now that I am going to lose all of my money!!

Why can't you access it? Have you received passwords that aren't working or you haven't received the information? You should have been given a date the switch was going to happen. Is it that date?

I've switched banks quite a few times and the old bank is usually just kept open and accessible.

Ultimately, no one on the internet can help you. You need to call them.

You'll have to wait until the switch is completed and you'll be able to draw it out of the new account.

When I take advantage of switch offers, I set up a donor account with a bank I already have, move a couple of small DDs to it and then switch that. It doesn't affect my day to day banking. I can move everything over to the new bank or the 2 small DDs back out at a later date if I want.

Any money paid into your old account will be moved to the new account as part of the switching service. In a day or so it will appear on your First Direct account.

No idea about the access, you need to speak to FD.
