Help with Year 10 work experience ideas!

Hi, my DD is in year 10 at secondary school and needs to find a work experience placement for March next year. She wants to be a paramedic so would ideally like to do her WE in a healthcare setting. She has emailed the local hospital and 6/7 care homes near by but so far of the 5 that have replied they’ve all said she’d need to be at least 16.
Any ideas on something she could do for the week where she wouldn’t need to be 16 but would still be in a healthcare kind of setting?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Old people's home?
Being a paramedic involves a lot of dealing with elderly people who have fallen over/gotten ill

Helping out in the office of your GP? Have you got a local physiotherapist?

The local GP said they don’t do WE placements…I’m not sure if it’s worth trying another one or if they’ll all be the same. I understand that atm it’s a very busy time for GPs and I guess they perhaps don’t want the added pressure of a 14yo asking lots of questions. Perhaps covid is a factor in their decision too?
A couple of the care homes were more ‘old peoples homes’ and a few have said no and a few are yet to respond. I thought they might like the idea of having someone to chat to the residents/help with lunches etc?

Do you have a local ambulance call handling centre? Anything with St Johns Ambulance or similar?

Age Concern helping at the lunch clubs etc?

My daughter is training to be a paramedic and did her work experience in a primary school.

A pharmacist
Dentists reception
Vet's/animal rehoming centre reception (she would still get experience of dealing with upset people)
Relevant charity shop: Age concern, RLNI, Air Ambulance
A soup kitchen
A shop that sells/rents disability aids
A day centre for people with learning disabilities
A funeral parlor
An opticians
A company that teaches first aid

She is on the waiting list to join the St John’s youth cadets and I’ve been in contact with them but they can’t help at the moment.
Thanks everyone for the other ideas, I’ve made a list and she can set about emailing some places later!

A food bank is another option.

What about organisations that provide first aid training? Wonder if they would accept a student who would act as a helper on some of their courses.
Local mum and baby groups to gain experience of children.
