How long does uncooked chicken last in the fridge?

I bought some chicken on Monday (3rd). Use by date is the 7th.

I opened it and used half of the packet on Monday evening. I wrapped it up in foil and planning on cooking the rest tonight. Do you think it will be okay? The packet says “when opened, use immediately”….?

Personally I wouldn’t use it. But that’s me. My worry would be where it says to ‘ use immediately once opened ‘ and on that basis I would not eat it.

If it smells and looks ok I would.

If it smells fine then cook it.

Raw chicken has a great way of letting you know when its gone off.

I'd use it, it's still in date and it's been kept in the fridge.

48 hrs max is my rule of thumb, so I'd use it (unless is was stinky or looked slimy)

Eat it, but don't use foil for leftovers in future. Tightly wrapped in clingfilm going forward.

It will be obvious if it's fine by the smell. You can't miss gone off chicken. If it smells fine, I'd use as normal.
