DTs have two parties coming up with new friends. What's the usual for secondary school parties? We were at the stick a tenner in a card for Y6.

Generally they go shopping and choose the gift - sometimes something from the big tescos but usually H&M, Superdrug etc

I'd still go with sticking money in a card unless they know what the other person likes

Either they go shopping (and come home with something utterly stupid, if they're anything like my DS and his mates) or we put money in a card. We give £20 now but only for his very close friends - the relentless tide of birthdays has calmed down a lot at secondary.

£10 in a card is fine. Also double check you aren’t expected to pay for your child when they attend.
