Dental plans

I've been waiting 2 years + for an NHS dentist, & now considering going private - don't have money to burn but I used to go every 3 months before we moved house, so am quite worried about the state my teeth will be in!
Am I too old at 60+ to get a plan? What does yours cost & what does it cover? All posts appreciated, thanks!

I used to have a Denplan policy through work (so got it cheaper than going direct to Denplan) but unless you need treatment I couldn't make it pay for itself so cancelled it and managed to get in an NHS dentist eventually. My dentist used to have their own scheme so it's worth looking into.
