Where to stay in London for a gig in Twickenham Stadium

Could anyone recommend an area for London where it's easy to get to Twickenham stadium.

We don't know Twickenham at all and we always stay in the Euston area when we visit London as we find it's easy to get there from Luton airport but we're open to flying to other airports and staying in other areas.

You can also walk to isleworth and Brentford from twickenham stadium.
Busses run until 1.30 in london, but immediately after a concert are difficult to get on.

I'll look at Isleworth and Brentford now.

I've provisionally booked a Premier Inn in Clapham Junction just so we definitely have something. But it can be cancelled if need be.

A warning about Gatwick to Clapham Junction - if it's at the weekend the trains often don't run due to works being carried out. DD1 has had to cancel trips to me in Putney more often than not because of this.

Where are you coming from? Train to London may be easier?

If you can afford it the Harbour inn in Richmond is very lovely (great pool too) and the Richmond Hill isn't bad either . The best western in Reddington is fine as well- not fancy but perfectly ok

Oh really! That's not great.
We're coming from Glasgow so ideally would fly.
It is the weekend we'll be coming.

Steer clear of the Travelodge in Teddington. The only nice thing about it is the location. Room hadn't been cleaned (I refused to use the shower), hairs in the bed sheets and anyone could walk from the street to the hotel rooms because the security didn't work.

I saw both these but for one night, they're a little steep!

these are excellent and a 20 min walk to the rfu

Don’t go for the premiere inn at the stadium, we stayed there a few weeks ago and it was 26* in our room. No air conditioning and it wasn’t even during the heatwave.

HappyHamsters · 04/10/2022 17:16

Beirish airways fly glasgow to heathrow, £70 round trip saturday 17th june 2023. Stay there in a hotel, tube straight to hounslow then a short 5min walk then a bus to the stadium .

ShaunaTheSheep · 04/10/2022 17:18

The train from Twickenham also goes west, which may be cheaper. There are a few options in Staines for example. Premier Inn, Travelodge, Mercury Thames Lodge, The Swan Hotel.

Or Windsor is an option too.

I'm not getting £70. It's coming out at £378 for me for both of us.

From luton you could get the overground to Richmond from West Hampstead station which is on the Luton to St Pancras line and stay in a travelodge on that line.

Plump82 · 04/10/2022 17:40

That's crazy, as on the British Airways website it's extortionate!

Have you tried Teddington or Kingston? Buses run through to both from Twickenham.

horrificbiology · 04/10/2022 18:45

I would look at Brentford /Chiswick that is down the road from the stadium a bus ride away.

AuditAngel · 04/10/2022 18:50

There is also both Travelodge and Premier inn in Sunbury, near Sunbury Cross. Easy route in by bus before the show (290) and the last bus from Twickenham to Sunbury is at Midnight

FitAt50 · 04/10/2022 18:53

We stayed at the Marriott hotel INSIDE the staidum and it was fab. Really nice hotel, lovely restaurant and rooms have a of the inside of the stadium.

Plump82 · 04/10/2022 20:34

Thanks for all these suggestions and links for me to check out. Will need to sit down and work out what and where is best. @FitAt50 the hotel in the grounds is out our budget unfortunately. We just want a cheap and cheerful quick night away.
