How long does a basic background check take?

Literally just identification, education, employment criminal record .

Hoping to hear today/ tomorrow but I've submitted my form 8 working days ago. Is this longer than normal? Could it be just sitting in a pile waiting to be signed off or does a single person work at it until completion?

Is it a DBS you’re referring to? It needs to go to each local police force you’ve lived in for the past 5 years. Some forces are very quick, others can take weeks.
