Hi mums !
My son is 9 days old , yesterday I noticed some blood on his belly button, and today there is some yellow discharge on it !
Is there anything to be concerned?
It looks like this

Keep it clean with cooled down boiled water and one piece of cotton wool per wipe. If there's a funny smell or it keeps oozing pus contact the gp.

Does it smell?

My DD had an infected belly button, and it was really smelly - the GP gave me some powder to put on it regularly and it soon cleared up.

If you're worried I would ring hte GP/midwife. Could you send a picture to the GP?

If there is pus, you need to see the GP.
