Why do people quote posts without adding anything?

I've noticed this a lot lately - people just quoting/reposting previous posts, and not adding anything else. Is it a way of agreeing with the post?

Infuriating isn't it? Especially when the post is looooooooooooooooong so you end up scrolling scrolling to find nothing of interest has been added.

I think it's a Mumsnet thing and a glitch - I've seen a few people complaining about it and it's started happening to me now.

I think it's a site glitch isn't it? There are some threads in Site Stuff. It's very annoying!

Yep and I knew a ‘hilarious’ individual would quote you. I don’t like the quote feature for this reason though.

So is the glitch that their comment underneath the quote isn't posting?

I've been thinking it's just people agreeing with a post, in a kind of "hear hear!" way. But maybe those posts were actually, "This post is a load of cobblers"?

You can't do it deliberately, on the app at least.

I am on the app. I have noticed that there have been times when people quote posted and their comment didn't show up on the app. It was happening quite a lot on one of the threads I was on. So I logged onto the website and I could see their replies along with the quoted posts. So the person who's comments aren't showing up may not actually have a clue. I think some people see this issue and some people don't
