Quick question about interview clothes for DS

DS18 has an interview next week for a general assistant job at Boots. He's very keen but wants to wear dark jeans and a polo shirt to the interview. DH and I have managed to talk him out of the jeans, but whilst I agree that a suit is OTT he thinks our suggestion of smart trousers, shirt and shoes is beyond awful.

I have no idea what the interview will entail, he's been told it's an hour slot so any suggestions about what should he wear?

I think nice jeans and a smart polo or shirt are fine.

I'd say trousers and a smart polo shirt are fine

Trousers and smart polo are ok for a Boots interview I think. He wants to feel comfortable and confident as well as look smart.

Our DS worked in Boots this summer. He wore a shirt and trousers and shoes for the interview. He wore that during work too before his uniform was ready. Encourage him to prepare for the interview by thinking about their products and good customer service and to smile!

@Dublincalling2 thank you, I said the same about their uniform being a shirt and trousers.

Out of interest how did you DS find working for Boots? My DS is lovely but a bit shy so I'm not sure how he will come across.

@Lavendersquare he liked it yes. Our DS is also shy and quiet but polite and presents well . His colleagues were in the main, good people, the customers were customers! He learned a lot in terms of cash desk and products. He was reluctant to leave (away to college).

Good luck to your DS. Also it took a good few days for DS to get a result, so be warned.
