Sounds a good start then buy more off ebay once you know the size of your baby maybe buy a newborn multipack and keep the tags on.

properdoughnut · 03/10/2022 16:32

And do you need body suits for if its cold for under thr baby grow?

YumYummy · 03/10/2022 16:38

You’ll probably get some little outfits as gifts.
I bought a tonne of stuff but enjoyed using some velour babygos which were really easy to put on and take off the most.

Get some some with zips :)

We’ve been given stuff by other people, approx 4-5 bin bags of everything 0-6 months. I’m expecting to use around 1/3 of it at the most

SunshineClouds1 · 03/10/2022 16:42

More Muslins!!! You'll use them 6 in one day 100%.

I would buy a couple of tiny baby. My child was 7lbs and and newborn swamped him ridiculously.

Vests, hats and mittens?

Happinessisabook · 03/10/2022 16:47

It really depends on your baby tbh.
My first was small so in tiny baby for a good month or more, and she was a very sicky baby so we went through loads of muslins and clothes so needed quite a lot.
My second was born too big for newborn so went straight into 0-1 / 0-3 month things. He has been sick twice in his life so far (he's 4 months old) so we hardly use any muslins and he can wear an outfit for the full day. We have maybe 10 vests and baby grows plus a couple of outfits and we could get away with half that tbh. We have 2 sleeping bags. You don't want to buy tons because they grow so fast you hardly get any wear out of them sometimes. Plus with Amazon and supermarkets etc you can get things at pretty much any time if you need more.

I'd say at least double the amount of Muslins! They're so useful. Definitely get a load of vests too.

Mommabear20 · 03/10/2022 18:46

Our 3rd DC is due in December, and we've got 10 short sleeved vests, 8 long sleeved vests, 15 sleepsuits, and 2-3 outfits in case we go anywhere over Christmas and will want pictures of her in something nicer than a sleepsuit! Also got 5 pairs of tights for underneath sleep suits during the day to give her an extra layer of warmth. We have 3 sleeping bags in 0-3 and another 3 in 3-6. We've got about 20 muslins, you do through ALOT! đŸ˜‚

I can't believe how much you are all buying. I didn't have a quarter of all those things, mind you we didn't have those sleeping bag things they all have now. I'm amazed

properdoughnut · 03/10/2022 19:13

Do you plan to use a tumble drier? If not remember it will take a while to dry things. It's easy to get more online as and when you find you're short though.
