For two weeks straight I had migraines. I can usually clear it with migraine tablets but it didnt clear.

I saw the doctor, got new meds, a week of work and it cleared.

Went back to work Monday last week and its returned. Meds didnt work to clear it. Yesterday and today its especially bad.

Work is stressful so it could be related.
Im trying to speak to the GP again but have to wait for a call or appt.
Any migraine sufferers that could help me with anything you do to clear your migraines?

I was prescribed propanalol as a preventative about 6 years ago, I take one every couple of days and haven't had a migraine since...I was getting them a couple of times a month previously.

Regular magnesium really reduced severity for me but I still need the imigran injections.

I took amitryptaline and then duloxetine as preventative measure for a total of about one year and I went from ~7 migraines a month to about 2 a year. It really changed my life. That plus zomig.

Thanks for the insights. The GP did talk about preventative medication at the last appointment so will discuss it with him as soon as I can speak to him again. Its good to hear how well its worked.

I'll look at taking magnesium tablets while I am waiting.

Look at your diet? I find cheese makes mine worse.

The only thing that worked for me was Topiramate. Had to come off it due to side effects

How's your blood pressure? My migraines increased enormously until I began blood pressure tablets and within two weeks stopped completely

Mine seemed to be a combination of causes/triggers, but one factor was stress, also hormones, and lighting (bright fluorescent lighting was a killer).

If stress is a contributer, you could try some relaxation meditation from the calm app, ideally before and after work and during lunchbreak.

If you can figure out your triggers it can be helpful. Eg once I figured out the lighting one, I put a screen guard on my computer monitor and got a warm light lamp for my office instead of using the overhead fluorescents.
