Whistling in the street

Not wolf whistling, just normal whistling a merry tune while walking along.

Have you ever heard a woman do this?

I pass people whistling quite a lot. Always men. Is it because women have been socialised not to make unnecessary noise?

Well, yes, but not usually while they're walking along in public on their own.

One of my DDs whistles all the time. She would definitely whistle a jolly little tune while waking down the street.

My housemate used to whistle all the time (female) used to drive me up the bloody wall. I still hate whistling and think it’s entitled of someone to do it i.e. in the office… you wouldn’t just start singing a random song because other people might not want to hear it! In the same case I do not want to hear your whistling so be quiet and music some music on in your earphones and let us all just be!

(I am usually a very relaxed person but whistling is a serious pet hate!!)

SparklePopRampage · 03/10/2022 14:38

*put some! (So enraged by even talking about whistling I can’t spot my autorcorrect making mistakes!!)

Imissmoominmama · 03/10/2022 14:41

Whistling makes me really anxious and angry. No idea why!

statetrooperstacey · 03/10/2022 14:42

I whistle a lot! I’m really good, It’s a lost art! 🤣

ArcaneWireless · 03/10/2022 14:44

I hate whistling with a passion. And it makes mouths look like turkeys arses. 😯

Shiboleth1 · 03/10/2022 14:46

I whistle. And was a woman last time I checked.

boogieboogie · 03/10/2022 14:59

I know what you mean OP, it's generally a man thing to do! Strange really!

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 03/10/2022 15:00

Yes they do op!!

Are you usually so unaware?

babasaclover · 03/10/2022 15:03

I do this but with humming. If you go round a corner and get 'caught' it usually leads to a nice little chat with the other person lol. If I'm
Happy it just spills out
