Heading to Bordeaux with 2 friends. Any suggestions of where to go, what to do, restaurants? We all like: wine, wine, food, wine and culture. Did I mention wine? Thanks!

Spend a bit of time by the Miroir d'eau, one of my
favourite places. Lovely view, lots of
families just having fun, great atmosphere.

If you are there a bit longer head out to St Emilion, hire bikes and cycle. If you see signs saying “degustation” follow them and go and taste some wine at lots of little vineyards. It’s mostly lovely and flat and the roads are quiet!

You could also head out to Dune du Pilat, highest sand dune in Europe and very impressive - nice little train journey and a day at the seaside.

Not sure when you are going but the wine festival is always great.

Leave yourself a bit of time to just potter in the city.

Oooh thanks. Liking the idea of the vineyards!

There’s a really cute little cheese and wine restaurant called Baud et Millet

The Cité du Vin museum is really good. Take a river boat there. If you walk back along the river you’ll pass a great open-air market on the quays. On tge opposite (east/right bank) there are some summer-only wine bars and music venues like La Guinguette that are fun. Depends when you’re going. Otherwise there are plenty of great restaurants to try.
