Enough is Enough rallies

I had a busy day yesterday so wasn't able to go to or watch coverage of these rallies yesterday.

I'm really interested to know if there was much coverage of them in the news? Usually there's a media blackout on these things. I'm interested to know if the media is turning against the Tories?

How much coverage were they given and how did they go?

I went to the one in London. It was great, and over 10000 in Attendance. Manchester and Liverpool were also massive. Some of the smaller towns seemed to have 100-200 people in attendance. I have seen plenty on Twitter but nothing in MSM.

The speakers at King's Cross referred to the last event several weeks ago having 1000 people attend, so ten fold increase.

Does it stand that the next ones will be ten times bigger again? People are likely to be even more sick of this shit in coming weeks when the cold starts to bite and the increased costs of living become further entrenched. However, demonstrating in December is less pleasant than a sunny early October weekend

GreenLunchBox · 02/10/2022 15:44

Let's hope so @Wazzzzzuuuuuuup

Thank you for going. I'll definitely go to the next ones.

Absolutely nothing on the news that I’ve seen. Will watch channel 4 news this evening as they are the ones most likely to cover those things.

from what I gather they were mentioned abroad but our own media hasn’t really covered them.

Hopefully more will be arranged and people will clock on to them from word of mouth/social media. I’d have gone but I was working yesterday.

You would think they would be mentioned yesterday as they were going on, not the day after, so probably not.

It's all going to be about the Tory conference now. I bet they don't show the people outside shouting 'Get out of Brum, Tory scum' either 🤣

Absolutely ridiculous. Our media are the reason we're in this fix

I had a look yesterday as wanted to check travel and articles came up so I’m not sure about black out claims

They were 10k and a mix of causes it seems

Were they on the main news though?

I didn’t even know about them. If there was coverage on the news you had to go looking for it, even on the bbc, it definitely wasn’t on their top stories.

It was a top story on the BBC yesterday when I read it.

Frazzled2207 · 02/10/2022 16:11

I went to the second massive anti brexit rally. There were estimated to be over a million there. Far too many to count basically.
it got a 2 minute mention on the news and a very basic article on the bbc news website.

it was 100% peaceful though. Of course less peaceful protests do make the news. Makes you wonder which is more more worthwhile.

Hmmmm 🤔

Lots of people have complained to the BBC for lack of coverage yesterday. Apparently it was under local news not national news

When you think we had days of nonstop coverage of people standing in a fucking queue, this beggars belief

Tens of thousands of people across the country protesting against a government is massive news. People like Kay Burley or Sophie Ridge surely should tweet something about them but there is nothing. Shocking really.

GreenLunchBox · 02/10/2022 16:26

Wonder if they'll show this? 😉

JRM was actually enjoying that. I wonder if he did that walk on purpose as some of the comments are suggesting

WanderingFruitWonderer · 02/10/2022 16:30

Oh, I hadn't heard about them, or I'd have tried to have gone. Though I live in a small Sussex town, so doubt there was one here. Hopefully there'll be more, similar protests soon, and I'll try to get to them if I can.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 02/10/2022 16:37

I wouldn't have been able to get to London yesterday due to the train strike. I obviously fully support the unions and their members though.
