Can I stay on tax credits ?

We have a joint claim but I’ve just given up work and am claiming carers - can I stay on tax credits for now and they’ll just adjust the amount or will it trigger a move to UC ?

I think you can stay on tax credits. I did the opposite to you and started work last year and continued to get child tax credits. It was treated as a new claim. I get Carers allowance too and it gets taken into account as income but I assume it’ll be less than your wages were so you should still be entitled to tax credits
