It's colloquial - maybe Northern?

I wanted to say something like "having kittens" or "mithered" in relation to my MIL potentially over-reacting to something and I think the word has 2 syllables and ends with something like pinctions. It's not compunction, it's not compinction 😂but I feel like that's almost right...

I know you lot will tell me in 2 seconds flat! Put me out of my misery please.
