Hi all,
Sorry, posting for traffic.
Overhead light hasn't been working in DS' bedroom for a few weeks - we presumed it was the bulb. He rarely uses it and has lots of lamps that he prefers - we've only just got round to replacing the bulb (I know) and it isn't working.
In the interim, DH has fitted shelves into a cupboard next to the bedroom - the wall with DS' bedroom light switch was drilled into in a couple of places. He used one of the wire detector scanner things but we are still worried he could have drilled through the wire. There were no sparks or any signs of trouble while he was doing it, none of the circuits tripped, etc.
We're going to call an electrician to take a look but does anyone know how 'bad'/urgent this sounds? It's been a few weeks and no sign of a problem so far, so I am hoping we are ok but not sure if we have just been lucky. We will keep the light switch off, do we need to switch anything else off? I guess I am asking if it can wait till Monday or if we need someone sooner.
Sincerely
Me and DH, both of whom are clueless with electrics
