I've purchased some pumpkin shaped candle holders from the garden centre today, is it to early to put them outside and decorate the front door steps this weekend?

Yes to answer your question. It is one day, not a week or weekend even. Perhaps October 29th at the earliest.

Its your house, do what you like. Halloween decorations aren't (yet) the norm in the UK in the same way they are in the US so whenever you do them you'll be the odd one out.

Yes to halloween themed stuff, no to general autumn wreathes I think.

Our indoor things are up 🤩 outside candle holders

They sound lovely. Go for it.

My house looks like halloween everyday of the year 🤣

Hoolahulahoop · 01/10/2022 18:31

Agree pumpkins are fine in sept and Oct. I wouldn’t put witchy type things up yet.

MajorCarolDanvers · 01/10/2022 18:33

I normally do it about a week before Halloween

cookiecreammmpie · 01/10/2022 18:35

I do it about a week before, just a few stickers and things hanging in the window. I wait till the actual day to put pumpkins and decorations outside.

Tumbleweed101 · 01/10/2022 18:54

I sometimes do autumn type displays with pumpkins etc about half way into the month and make it more spooky themed the week around Halloween, so probably half term. My children are getting older now so it will be more low key than the last few years.

Never!!!!

I’m in the "it's one day not a whole bloody month" camp, but if you have more general autumn decorations then I guess why not. It's your front step, you do what you like with it.

We have autumn bits from end September and put the Halloween bits up a few days before.

Hohofortherobbers · 01/10/2022 19:15

About 4pm on 31st Oct I put the pumpkin outside, back in at bedtime.
